Florist shops have changed dramatically over the years. Where once stood a small cart with a small selection of in bloom flowers, now stands a store that has pre-made bouquets and gift baskets along all the walls with a variety of different greeting cards and stuffed animals. Florists are no longer bound to the flowers that are available within their surrounding areas because now they are able to receive flowers from other places and consumers are able to find spring flowers all year long.
Gift baskets are one of the new major marketing advancements in the flower industry. A gift basket is a collection of little surprises that are all centered on a theme that the person receiving the basket likes. There are varieties of different basket gift ideas that are already made up and on display in the florist shop ready for purchase, but consumers are always welcome to custom order a basket to their needs and liking.
Some of the more typical gift basket ideas are things like a cheese and wine selection, a meat and cheese variety, seasonal fruit, and even a coffee lover’s assortment, but it is through the more creative ideas that make the basket personable. Some consumers come in with a vision and a price range and let the florists do what they do best, but then there some customers that have already gone out and purchased all of the items that they want in the basket, they just need someone to put it all together.
Another advancement in the flower industry is that florists are now able to deliver flowers to the consumer recipient. This avoids any of the hassle of having to make sure that the buyer can get down to the florists on time and get the flowers to their recipient without any damage or wilting. Every florist is now able to send flowers locally, while some florists are able to deliver flowers coast to coast and yet others are now offering international flower orders. Not even the Pacific Ocean can keep a customer from send a beautiful bouquet of flowers to their loved ones.
There really is no telling what the flower industry will come up with next. Some florists have started to experiment with new types of flowers, trying to combine two different types of coding to create a new flower. It is typical of people always want to do something new and different, and the flower industry has done a great job in keeping up with the growing demand.
